Virtual spinners are an engagement tool that can have many broad purposes. This platform allows users to edit the spinner with the use of numbers, colours, and amount of sections. Students can spin the wheel and use the numbers that they land on in activities or math practice. Users press the "spin" button and the spinner lands on a colour and/or number. Spinners make students feel "in charge" as they can feel excited "creating" their own math problems. Since the outcome comes at random, students are able to work out problems that are not forecasted and they can critically think.
Spinners also create anticipation and focus that can be used in practice of probability, addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and more. Instead of the traditional, "pick a number out of a hat", examples how educators can also use the spinner tool is to randomly choose the order of presentation groups, or a book to read.
