Integrating Instagram into the Classroom

One of the hardest things when working with children and adolescents is knowing that there's never enough time to spend and develop everyone as much as you'd like. A really easy and fun way to get a lot of information across to everyone is to have a class Instagram page.
Here are some things you can post!
Examples of Work!
-  By posting examples of the work you'd expect you can be sure that the students know how to do their work; this can be both what to do, and what not to do!
Rubrics!
-  No longer will marking rubrics get lost in students bag or the dumpster!
Student's Work!
-  Including art, stories, presentations
Student of the Week!
-  Showcase students who work hard, show kindness to others, or are just upholding classroom values
Extra Material!
-   Give students and parents extra material for them to explore and learn from based on past or future lessons. Can include book recommendations, podcasts, videos, or even pictures from a textbook/encyclopedia
A Progression of Student Work!
-  Without singling out any one student, it can be a way to show the students and parents how the class is progressing month to month
Communication!
-  Instagram would be a fast and easy way to communicate to all parents without spamming their inbox
Extra-curriculars!
-  Showcase the things the students do outside of school; emphasize that there's more to life than school and video games!
There are many more ways you can use this app in the classroom; just be sure to make your account private!
