EXTRA! EXTRA! Read all about Math Prodigy!

EXTRA! EXTRA! Read all about Math Prodigy!

According to ProdigyGame.com, we can begin to understand that this website is in fact an engaging, curriculum-aligned math platform loved by over 50 million students, teachers and admins. It can be easily used to motivate students from grades 1-8 as they can learn to practice math. In fact, Prodigy will deepen the understanding of  students, as it offers 1,400+ math skills ranging from first to third level grades. On the lower end, students practice fluency and knowledge of basic concepts and routine procedures.

How Does Prodigy Improve Math Content?

As Prodigy was created by a team of teachers, experiences from their own classrooms have been incorporated in order to develop question hints and video lessons to ensure that students receive appropriate content. The teams of teachers are regularly improving math content as they are constantly researching current skills in a given area and ensuring they match curriculum expectations and bridge content gaps.

One major positive aspect from this website includes the fact that it can be easily accessible at home or in class (and it's free!) As I have been placed within a Grade 1/2 class this semester, I noticed that my host teacher was a major fan as she incorporated the use of Math Prodigy throughout her busy day. Students were strictly instructed to use their iPad's during their free time and I was surprised to see how many students were actually engaged with Math Prodigy. I noticed that most students would brag about the content being presented as they had learned how to master most of the concepts. For instance, as most of my grade 1's and 2's are quite advanced, I was surprised to notice that all students became engaged and successfully mastered the art of calculating the sum of double digit numbers.

So what are you waiting for? Let's start incorporating Math Prodigy in order to make our students Math Geniuses
