This video highlights how an art school incorporates literacy into art with their adorable 2nd graders. It is refreshing to see how art and creativity can still be a valuable tool in this age of technology and analytics.

In some ways this can activate deeper thinking as students can interpret what they see differently which can promote further discussion. It is great to see schools finding practical uses for art, especially since it can be very engaging for younger students. I have always enjoyed visual arts so I have definitely found value with this video as I would love to conduct lessons such as those demonstrated. This also helps students who may struggle with reading written words and may boost their confidence by being able to participate in an activity they are more comfortable with.
