In the post-pandemic world, children have extremely high social and emotional needs. Now more than ever, mental health is finally seen as an integral component of one's overall well-being. It is important to equip children in schools with the necessary tools to help manage their mind, body, and spirit. That way, they can utilize these skills when they need it the most—even years down the road.
Yoga can be a great way to teach children the importance of self-awareness and coping with stress, managing emotions, and promoting positivity. It is amazing how much of a difference a few deep breaths and some stretching can have on the human body. Teaching young children breathing techniques can go a long way in helping them when they feel sad, anxious, or angry.
So let's give it a try…
Take a deep breath in.
Hold for 5 seconds.
Breathe out.
