Learning is a Process: Teaching to Learn

What interests me is the concept of teaching to learn. I really enjoyed the activity that the group provided us today in their presentation of the Learning Key (Teaching to Learn).

By getting in small groups and having to concentrate on tossing the ball to the correct person, as well as continuing the pattern of who to toss the ball to was difficult at first.  However, once we knew the correct order it was easier to follow through. It did get progressively more difficult when the moderator (Melissa) kept adding more tennis balls into our pattern of tossing.
This connected to the presentation wonderfully, by promoting their idea of learning as a process. By doing this activity, learning the rules and following the instructions was challenging but our group got the hang of the activity and in the end, we were successful in following and continuing the pattern.

This activity could also be done and used in a classroom setting with your students in order to encourage communication and teamwork! In my undergrad a couple years ago during my placement, we completed an activity similar to this and it was a success for all students.
