The Importance of Classroom Newsletters

As future educators, we begin to understand how crucial parent-teacher communication is and how much of a positive impact it has on students' education. Parent involvement is very important in the success of their child's education. Creating a classroom newsletter is a way that the teacher can communicate and inform parents about what their children are learning in the classroom, day-to-day classroom activities and how they can support their child's education. 

Each teacher's classroom newsletter will look different, and each teacher can decide what they would like to include in their classroom newsletter. Some ideas include special events in the classroom, reminders, a description of the units they will be covering, classroom schedules, contact information and how parents can help their child at home. These are only a few of the many ideas that educators can include in the classroom newsletter.

They allow parents to understand their role in supporting their child's education and involvement in the school community. Newsletters can give parents the resources and tips to support their child's learning process. There are many benefits of the classroom newsletter to teachers, students and parents, which is why more teachers need to create them and make them a part of their weekly routines. The more communication, the better!
