Headspace - A Wealth of Benefits for Children

Headspace is a website and app that specializes in mindfulness and meditation. There is a section dedicated to kids, with guided meditations focusing on Calm, Kindness, Appreciation, Settling Down, Paying Attention and many more; targeted to under 5, 6-8, and 9-12 age groups.  Headspace can be used to help students build healthy habits, focus better, lessen stress, and think more positively. 


Mindfulness and meditation have a wealth of benefits for children. Mindfulness meditation can increase feelings of calmness, relaxation, and self-acceptance at a time in life that many adolescents may need those things the most. Meditation has also been shown to help young minds to develop a keen sense of emotional intelligence, the ability to identify and manage one's own emotions, as well as the emotions of others. And with sharpened emotional intelligence comes essential life skills such as resilience, empathy, active listening, and humility.
