Discussing the topic of playing it safe teaching versus adventurous teaching; I would agree with the class topic of playing it safe for the first couple years of teaching makes sense. Safe teaching is following the manuals and starting simple when educating but expect chaotic behaviour. But through my teacher career I should be able to be a little bit adventurous when it comes to my teaching style. Create more complex learning to engage students into understanding the lesson.
Teaching within a comfort zone helps at first, it is what you're comfortable and familiar with. My first day teaching at school I want to follow the rules and teach the material that is given to me. If teaching in a comfort zone for too long students tend to remember, understand and apply; teachers are just there to help teach. A more forward way of teaching would be to teach out of the box by teaching the students to analyze, evaluate and create a progressive way of learning. This helps create open ended thoughts and questions. Having students combine all their knowledge to create a product that reflects their learning and how the teacher teaches would be a benefit from adventurous learning.
Although, a teacher must teach in a comfort zone first and then once familiar and comfortable with teaching then adventurous learning can take place.
