Parent-Teacher Communication

Parent-Teacher Communication

A topic of interest that I will be discussing is regarding parent communication and how crucial it is for us as practicing teachers. What strategies can we use to build great relationships with parents to ensure that they'll entrust us with their children and understand how we want to support their students academically and emotionally? Well, keeping parents informed about what is going on in the classroom is something we should always do. We can do this by utilizing Google Classroom to send out reminders and work that has been completed for the day. It can be difficult to communicate to parents and keep them on your good side. We can keep learn to keep them aware of important school events and reporting deadlines in order to prevent surprises which is something that can be frustrating. As much as possible, we should always remain in constant communication with them and let them know that they are able to reach us whenever they need to. This will help you and the parent create a solid foundation of trust as well as builds a partnership.

In addition, when a worry is expressed, it's critical to listen, display empathy, and always act professionally, confidently, and with composure. We must acknowledge their concerns, make encouraging phone calls home, start the conversation with positive news, and inquire about their child in order to demonstrate our concern and desire to remain involved. It might be difficult at times, and not all parents are straightforward with us, but it is our responsibility to maintain our resolve and strength. We are professionals with a variety of resources at our disposal to assist us when dealing with difficult situations involving parents or guardians. I can understand that this is what concerns us the most, and we are reluctant to feel overwhelmed or humiliated as a result of complaints from others or challenging parents. Our job is to stay reasonable and by utilizing these tactics and processes, it is a step toward solving any problems we encounter.
