OUR CONFERENCE NIAGARA UNIVERSITY:
Nature Journaling, Jim Chapel
Teaching us that education is experienced outside the classroom! Take your students out for a Nature Walk. This can look incredibly different depending what outside looks like- weather, Urban vs. Rural
Build the wonder, stop, look, listen, smell, taste…. Encouraging the connection of outdoors and nature into our lessons. Time to slow down and appreciate what is surrounding us daily. Leave the electronics and ground yourself and students to the possibilities of the outdoors. Create what you see, tell the story through art and drawings, Soundscapes, Poetry, and Diagrams. Providing students to explore and be creative. Bringing our students outside can be reflective in Literacy, Arts, Mathematics, PE, Social Studies, and Science curriculums. Every classroom should have opportunities to get outside!
