Technology for Efficient Educators

What has stood out to me most throughout this course is how technology can be embraced by teachers to improve their practice rather than complicate it. When used with purpose, technology can make lesson planning and delivery more efficient while allowing teachers to focus more of their time and energy on what matters most: the content they are teaching, how they deliver it, and how they support their students. I think this is especially important in a profession where teachers manage many responsibilities beyond classroom instruction and are often stretched for time.

Technology can help minimize some of the tedious work that extends teachers’ working hours and often contribute to burnout. It can also help teachers become more informed, organized, and prepared. Rather than viewing technology as a shortcut, I see it as a way of using available tools to work more effectively and create more time for meaningful aspects of teaching.

My group’s tech tool workshop on Google Classroom reinforced this perspective. Tools such as Gemini can help teachers create visual diagrams, adapt or translate texts, and develop multimedia resources to explain complex material in different ways. Google classroom also helps keep teachers organized and allows them to facilitate a well structured and organized online classroom that students engage with and benefit from.

I have experienced similar benefits as a student. Technology that keeps me organized and reduces time spent on tedious work has made my academic life easier, improved my performance, and expanded the scope of what I can achieve because my learning processes have become more efficient. For me, embracing technology is not about doing less; it is about creating the capacity to focus more on what matters.
