All About Flipgrid

With online learning becoming increasingly more relevant in modern times, and especially now with the COVID 19 pandemic, it can be challenging for teachers to find ways to keep students engaged, and likewise it is an equal struggle for students to feel engaged. One way to combat this issue is to use tech tools, such as Flipgrid. Flipgrid is an interactive website that allows teachers to create what are called "grids". These "grids" facilitate video discussions that are structured like a discussion board, where teachers can pose questions or topics, and students can post video responses that will then appear in a grid-like format. Click the picture link below.
Flipgrid is a free website, and you can send codes to specifically allow only people with the codes to be a part of the discussions. Students can also respond to each other with Flipgrid, encouraging reflection and peer assessments. This website is a great tool to use that keeps students engaged and active in their learning, and forces them to contribute and participate in a fun way! With online learning, it is hard for students to feel motivated to contribute to classes - with Flipgrid, participation is made exciting, and each and every students' voice is heard. Furthermore, you can collaborate or share with other teachers, as well as other members of the community such as parents. It is an easy to use website! Flipgrid is also perfect for differentiated learning, where students who may struggle with written responses can respond to questions orally instead.
