Interactive Whiteboard – Educational Technology

Interactive whiteboards in the classroom offer an exciting and easy-to-use learning tool. It consists of an interactive whiteboard and touchscreen that is connected to a computer and a projector. This is a great technology manipulative as the computer can be operated with a finger or pen directly on the surface of the board. These interactive whiteboards consists of student response systems as a learning tools. All information that is presented through lecture may be saved on the whiteboard for further use. This allows students to visually represent their ideas and look back on their findings. This method of teaching has been found to increase student participation, productivity, and grades. Whiteboards are a great technological manipulative that allows students to view lectures, present their knowledge, and interact with the combined accessories to promote learning.
