GoNoodle

GoNoodle is a mindfulness platform that promotes physical, as well as mental, wellbeing. The platform is perfect for students and teachers in need of a mental and physical wellness break through the day. The platform has extensive content for children ages 4-12. The movement based activities found on the website are perfect for virtual learning, as well as in- class social distance learning. The activities could be completed at each student's desk and do not require excessive amounts of room to participate. GoNoodle provides the perfect brain break for students and its positive effects in the classroom are noticeable.

From personal experience, the students in a grade one class I was working in absolutely loved GoNoddle. After a challenging lesson, students would look forward to the  GoNoodle and the physical activity to give their bodies and minds a break. After the students participated in the GoNoodle movement activity, they were able to regroup and refocus, they were able to concentrate better on the work they were completing. By incorporating GoNoodle, I also noticed that it gave students the opportunity to express their emotions, or zones of regulation, and how to better self-regulate. After a challenging morning period, a student expressed that he was feeling overwhelmed and in need of a break. The student identified that mindfulness or movement activities on GoNoodle helped him regulate what zone he was in and bring him back to the green zone.

GoNoodle is an excellent tool for both teachers and students. While it is highly motivational and engaging, it teaches students about their own mental wellness and how to positively stimulate their brains with physical/meditative activity.
