7 Essential 'Zones' That Should be in Every Classroom

After being a student myself and having previous placements in classroom settings, I have always been interested in how to make the classroom a positive environment for young students. I understand that all students learn in various ways and it is important to provide the sources and tools to help them succeed from a young age. 

This information in particular would be mostly targeted towards a P/J classroom and I believe that it can be quite useful when setting up a classroom that can be beneficial for everyone. Overall, this helps to create a safe space for students where they are met with tools and other resources, as well as an engaging environment to learn in.

There are many elements to consider as you plan for the next school year. You always review critical pieces like standards, curriculum, instructional activities, and testing, but you also think about the classroom space and how to arrange desks, set up bulletin boards, and organize materials.

You can bring these seemingly disconnected components together in a system of seven classroom zones. Using these zones will help you establish routines, save time, and maintain your sanity from the first through the last days of school.
